Meeting of Universities Offering the Preschool Education Programme – Round Table Discussion

In cooperation with the Faculty of Education at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, we are organising a meeting of academic staff responsible for teaching in preschool education study programmes. The aim of the meeting is to create space for sharing experiences, mutual inspiration, and professional discussion on how to effectively integrate the outdoor environment into early childhood education. The meeting will take place on 27 November 2025 at the foundation’s premises in Prague 6.

The meeting will be attended by Miluše Vítečková and Marie Najmonová from the Faculty of Education at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. They will introduce the programme and open the discussion on the role of the outdoor environment in preparing future kindergarten teachers. Psychiatrist Vladimír Kmoch will share his insights on using school gardens to support children’s mental and physical health. Alena Krejčová and Lucie Menhartová, together with Marie Najmonová, will present the elective course Outdoor Education in the Kindergarten Environment.

Meeting Programme

  • 11:00 – Vladimír Kmoch – Garden Therapy
  • 11:45 – Presentation of the Transformations of Gardens programme (A Garden Is Also a Classroom!)
  • 12:00–12:45 – Joint lunch
  • 12:45–13:45 – Presentation of the elective course Outdoor Education in the Kindergarten Environment – Marie Najmonová / Alena Krejčová / Lucie Menhartová
  • 13:45–14:45 – Group discussion
  • 15:00 – Closing remarks
