We mapped the main impacts and activities of our educational centers and partner kindergartens in the Proměny zahrad program for 2025. We focused on systemic and international cooperation, methodological work, certifications, and impact evaluation. Take a look at selected results that illustrate our efforts to change how the education system views the use of school gardens in early childhood education.

Education of the professional community

In 2025, the educational centres together with partner kindergartens educated a total of 1,374 professionals, mainly kindergarten directors and teachers, founders of educational institutions, and teachers from other types of schools. In addition to professionals, 5,934 people from among parents, children and the wider community were reached. Compared to 2024, educational activity increased significantly. Per educational centre, this represents more than a twofold increase.

Connecting Practice, the System and the Academic Environment

Educators from our network contribute to the preparation of expert background materials for the Standards for School Gardens as Spaces for Education and Development participate in working groups and regional education platforms, and take part in professional meetings such as the university roundtable.

They also transfer practical experience into higher education. For example, they collaborate on the development of the syllabus for the course Educating Children in the School Garden, which will be taught from the summer semester of 2026 at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, and they provide internships for students.

Development of Methodologies and Educational Content

Experts from our network have also prepared the majority of the content for our educational platform Zahrada je taky třída. Altogether, 80% of the materials were created based on their everyday pedagogical practice. They also prepare methodologies and calls for the School Garden Month (MŠZ) initiative, which annually encourages schools and kindergartens to implement learning activities outdoors.

Other Activities

Educational centres are also involved in international cooperation, professional networks and certification programmes. They share their experience through professional meetings, presentations, study visits and other awareness‑raising activities. The experience and activities of the educational centres gradually inspire other schools to make the school garden a natural part of high‑quality early childhood education.
