As a main partner of the upcoming "School as a Meeting Place" conference, held this October in Prague, we look forward to introducing attendees to the new school garden standards methodology. Alongside leading experts, we will provide practical demonstrations showing how schools can transform their outdoor spaces into vibrant hubs for learning, discovery, and play.

The day kicks off with an opening presentation, "The school garden as a living classroom," where Ludmila Třeštíková (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports), Marie Najmonová (Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia), and Ivana Procházková (Karel Komárek Family Foundation) will introduce the standards for kindergartens and other educational institutions and highlight their benefits. The topic will be elaborated on during the afternoon's dedicated preschool education track.

A friendly competition will also take place during the conference. One of the grand prizes, provided by our foundation, is a tailored consultation package titled "The School Garden as a Component of Education," valued at 50,000 CZK (including VAT). The winner will receive a professional assessment of their current grounds, actionable advice on linking their garden to core educational curricula, and a dedicated session with a landscape architect.

About the School Garden Standards

The Standards for Gardens as Educational Spaces is an official methodological framework issued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. It was developed through a unique collaboration between educators, landscape architects, and child development specialists. The framework provides schools with a cohesive blueprint for planning, restoring, and utilizing their grounds daily to enrich learning, play, physical activity, and overall childhood well‑being.
