On Monday, June 15, alongside our partners, we officially launched the transformation of the garden at Na Okraji Kindergarten in Prague 6. The project will creatively repurpose wood from the Christmas tree that adorned nearby Vítězné náměstí this past winter.

The launch event was attended by representatives of the district council, led by Prague 6 Deputy Mayor Mariana Čapková. Joining the foundation’s director on site were kindergarten principal Lenka Bártová and the children, project architect Jitka Tomsová, and representatives from the construction firm Yggdrasilmont.

A notable feature and key benefit of this initiative is its sustainable approach to sourcing materials. Selected play structures and decorative elements in the garden will be crafted directly from the salvaged Christmas tree from Vítězné náměstí.

The project will also incorporate timber donated by Lesy hl. m. Prahy (Forests of the Capital City of Prague). Through these sustainable efforts, the newly revitalised garden will carry forward a tangible piece of local Prague 6 history.
