Each year, the MenART Award recognises exceptional teachers at basic art schools, specifically those who significantly influence their students’ artistic and personal development. As the patron of the piano section, the Karel Komárek Family Foundation proudly shares the philosophy of the MenART Academy.
Past and future awardees are united by an emphasis on an individual approach, the ability to create a safe and stimulating environment, and guiding students towards independent thinking and creation. Their focus is not only on technical skill, but on personal growth, a relationship with art, and the ability to find one’s own path.
„The MenART Award for an outstanding basic art school teacher highlights the exceptional approach of teachers we have had the honour to meet. They see their work as a calling, they accompany their students, and they open the world of art to them for their future life journey. Their teaching gives the younger generation the courage to create and is deeply inspiring“
Five awardees will receive a financial prize of CZK 25,000 and an original award in the form of a light up book. The awards will be presented at the opening of the 9th year of the MenART Academy on Saturday 22 August 2026 at the Reduta of the Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc.
