Rudolfinum Resounded with the Opening Concert of the 19th Dvořák Prague Festival

On Saturday, 5 September, the 19th Dvořák Prague Festival opened at Prague’s Rudolfinum. As the festival’s principal patron, the Karel Komárek Family Foundation stands alongside an event that brings leading figures of international classical music to Prague every year.
The first evening of the festival belonged to the official opening concert in Dvořák Hall. One of the world’s finest orchestras, Filarmonica della Scala, performed iconic works by Antonín Dvořák under the baton of its Music Director Riccardo Chailly. Austrian cellist Julia Hagen appeared as soloist.
Viewers were also able to watch the opening ceremony live on Czech Television’s ČT art channel. A recording of the concert is temporarily available on the iVysílání platform.
The festival programme will continue until 23 September and will offer encounters with leading international orchestras, conductors, and soloists. Alongside major symphonic evenings, the programme also returns to Care for Antonín Dvořák’s Legacy. This year’s Dvořák Collection focuses primarily on his songs. Through the For the Future series, the festival opens space for a new generation of exceptionally talented musicians. Genre diversity, a more relaxed atmosphere, and new perspectives on classical music are brought by the No Tie concert series.
