The Dvořákova Praha Festival has launched a special Christmas pre‑sale for 2026, offering tickets for three concerts from its upcoming 19th edition. The selection includes the return of a top international orchestra, a major soloist collaboration, and a concert performance of a Czech opera. Our Karel Komárek Family Foundation has long supported the festival as its main patron.

Festival Director Jan Simon summarised the musical programme of the first announced concerts: “The Tonhalle‑Orchester Zürich and its Music Director Paavo Järvi kicked off Dvořákova Praha successfully in 2023. In September, they will return to the festival together with a favourite of our audience, the violinist Josef Špaček. The joint recital of pianists Brad Mehldau and Kirill Gerstein continues the informal No Tie series, and Dvořák’s Jakobín will be presented within the Opera in Concert series.”

The first concert on offer is the performance by Josef Špaček on 8 September 2026, featuring Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, accompanied by the Tonhalle‑Orchester Zürich under Paavo Järvi.

The programme will be complemented by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. A day later, on 9 September, the No Tie series continues with a joint recital by Brad Mehldau and Kirill Gerstein, blending classical music with jazz in a programme ranging from Bach to original compositions and standards.

The third concert, on 19 September, will be a concert performance of Dvořák’s Jakobín with the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK conducted by Tomáš Netopil, featuring Kateřina Kněžíková, Adam Plachetka, František Zahradníček, and the Prague Philharmonic Choir.

Ticket sales for all three concerts began on 25 November. Tickets are available on the festival’s website at www.dvorakovapraha.cz.
