The workshop will take place as part of the European Sustainable Development Week. It will focus on a shared discussion about the future of school gardens. Participants will gain inspiration, practical ideas, and examples from practice. Together, they will seek a vision for school gardens that responds to the needs of children, teachers, and the city.
The morning session will offer several perspectives on the importance and potential use of school gardens. It will present their transformation and use as a learning environment, experience from practice, and the perspectives of an architect, a doctor, and a founding body.
The afternoon workshop will create space for joint work in smaller groups. The discussion will focus, for example, on what school gardens need today, what kind of support teachers need, and how schools can share their experience.
The joint outcome of the workshop will be recommendations for the future development of school gardens in České Budějovice.
