The transformation of Střed Park in Most, which our foundation has contributed to in recent years, has had a significant positive impact on people's perception of safety in the central part of the city. This was confirmed by a recent public safety perception survey conducted among the residents of Most.

In 2019, residents considered Střed Park one of the least safe places in Most, along with the train station and the Stovky neighborhood. In addition to the renovation of this central public space and improved lighting, the change in the sense of safety was also supported by an AI‑powered camera system and regular patrols by crime prevention assistants and municipal police officers. A recent survey among Most residents showed that 78% of park visitors now feel safer there than before the reconstruction. Střed Park is currently perceived as the safest park in Most.

“From the very beginning, we knew that safety needed to be a key focus in finding quality solutions for the renovation of Střed Park – and that this had to be addressed comprehensively and in close cooperation with the city. We’re now seeing that this approach really works, and that people genuinely feel safer in Střed Park – which we are very pleased about,” says Pavlína Macháčková, project manager at the KKFF Foundation, which contributed to the park’s transformation.

The survey confirmed an important insight: that safety in Most is not only about police presence, but also about the quality of public space – its lighting, cleanliness, and overall condition. Our foundation therefore plans to remain actively involved in Střed Park, supporting cultural events and helping to ensure it remains a place where the people of Most feel safe and at ease.
