Support the Transformation of the Space in Front of Na Okraji Kindegarden in the Nápad pro Šestku Vote

The space in front of Na Okraji Kindergarten has the potential to become a safe and welcoming place for everyday meetings of children, parents, and neighbours. This is why a proposal for its transformation has been prepared and included in the participatory vote organised by Prague 6, Nápad pro Šestku. The project was designed by architect Jitka Tomsová, who also created the design for the transformation of the Na Okraji Kindergarten garden. That project is being prepared by Prague 6 in cooperation with the Karel Komárek Family Foundation.

At present, the area functions mainly as a passageway without a clear structure or identity, even though people meet here several times a day. The proposal therefore aims to transform it into a clear, safe, and pleasant place where it feels natural to stop and spend some time.

The transformation includes elements that will allow people to truly use the space. It will include benches for seating, simple play elements for children, and new greenery. The space will also be complemented by pavement graphics created from sketches by children from Na Okraji Kindergarten, as well as an artistic object that will give the place a clear identity and make orientation easier.

Voting in the Nápad pro Šestku programme runs online from 1 to 31 May 2026 on the Nápad pro Šestku website. Residents of Prague 6, people who work there, or those who use the area regularly can take part, provided they are at least 15 years old. Each voter can participate once and support proposals in one or both categories.

The project builds on the broader transformation of the Na Okraji Kindergarten garden and long term efforts to make the kindergarten an open and natural centre of community life. The voting result will therefore decide not only the future of one place, but also the next step in the development of the entire site.
