The Rebirth of Park Střed in Most

In the center of Most, we have created a new green oasis. Thanks to our efforts, people are returning to this once decaying and lifeless place. Residents from both the nearby and wider area appreciate the sense of safety and new opportunities for leisure time. The park was officially opened on May 1, 2024.

About the Transformation

What we have accomplished

The architectural solution revitalizes the original heart of the park with the fountain and carefully adds new elements, including a café, a stage, and a workout playground. We preserved the original artwork that holds strong sentimental value for people. For example, the well‑known sculpture from 1971, 'Biological Body' by sculptor Josef Klimeš, was relocated to a better spot.

I have been visiting the park my whole life. Since I was a baby in a stroller. I also spent a lot of time there with friends. So many memories! We climbed the Biological Body sculpture and waded through the cascades in the water. Now I am fifty and have my own plane tree in the park, which I acquired thanks to the foundation’s public fundraiser.

More about the transformation

Most succeeded with its project plan for park restoration in competition with 28 cities from all over the Czech Republic. It also successfully completed the preparatory phase of the project, which was a prerequisite for receiving the full financial contribution. Before the construction began, the foundation organized several events in the city's green center to involve the public in the park's renewal. Among the most popular with locals were the Sports Weekend of Open Gardens and the Most Apple Harvest.
