Vodnická Kindergarten in Prague‑Újezd

We utilized high‑quality natural materials to completely transform the garden. The new elements serve both aesthetically and functionally. This combination makes children look forward to spending time in the garden.

About the Transformation

What we achieved

In collaboration with architects, we developed a nautical concept, which helped reshape the garden's terrain. Newly planted shrubs created spaces for natural hide‑and‑seek games. Complementing these and providing opportunities to observe the surroundings is an earthen hut with a periscope. To the children's delight, the garden also features several sound tubes, a pole field with a ship’s wheel, and a rope bridge over a gorge. Among the play elements, acacia logs stand out.

An important goal of garden transformation is to foster children's connection with nature, which they usually encounter in a very limited way today.

More about the transformation

The garden offers children numerous opportunities for education and free movement. They turn the steering wheel, ship’s wheel, or cross the rope bridge over the gorge. Parents also participated in the garden's transformation — they proposed creating beds for growing herbs and other plants, as well as designing an original labyrinth and a wall‑mounted abacus.
