Petroupim and Church Elementary and Kindergarten School ARCHA in Petroupim

We elevated a classic and somewhat dull school plot into an inviting space that encourages children and adults alike to explore, seek out hidden corners, experiment, and engage in creative play. Proven play elements serve educational purposes and strengthen the bond between children and educators.

About the Transformation

What we achieved

We created a richly structured terrain filled with mature trees, offering a multitude of stimuli. The garden's natural character is accentuated by multifunctional wooden play elements, complemented by massive stones, twisted logs, water troughs and cascades, ropes, and tunnels. The garden directly invites free play and supports children's natural curiosity about the surrounding world and their desire to care for it. This is reflected in the garden's name – United Worlds.

More about the transformation

The foundation went through a period of intensive collaboration among the staff of Kindergarten Petroupim, the Church Kindergarten and Elementary School ARCHA, parents, and the children to create this fascinating garden space. The transformation helped to further unite a strong community striving for the continued development of this unique space. We selected the school for grant support at the end of 2017, when it was one of six successful applicants out of a total of 28.
