Jana Opletala Kindergarten in České Budějovice

In revitalizing and enlivening the garden of this kindergarten, we prioritized the children. Thanks to our efforts, they can now embark on an imaginary journey around the world within the garden, learning to recognize continents along the way.

About the Transformation

What we achieved

A new green oasis is flourishing over a space of nearly 7,000 square meters. Our aim was to help children, many of whom live in concrete housing estates, feel content, active, and resilient. The garden was designed to encourage children's curiosity and exploration. Young visitors traverse continents, observe various plants, and learn about customs from different parts of the world. This helps them understand societal and natural phenomena.

More about the transformation

The architectural design divided the garden into several sections featuring new play elements: a “detached balloon” (a natural play structure around a mature tree) and an airplane. A prominent signpost aids orientation on the journey around the “world”. As with our other projects, our goal wasn't merely to beautify the space, but to also foster improved interpersonal relationships in the České Budějovice housing estate. A positive atmosphere prevails, accompanied by a greater desire to explore the world and connect with others.
