Faculty Kindergarten with Special Care in Prague 6

We transformed the previously barren space into several beautiful thematic corners, blending the world of imagination and free play. The kindergarten garden on Arabská Street becomes, both literally and figuratively, a journey where children learn independence, self‑reliance, and courage.

About the Transformation

What we achieved

We helped turn architects' designs into reality. As a result, the kindergarten garden now includes a forest, a grove, an area called the edible wilderness, a courtyard, a crafting zone, and a cherry orchard. Notable features include a prominent wooden ship in the sandbox, an outdoor classroom table, a tipi, gazebos, scooter paths, and a playhouse with a slide. The concept of the garden as a "journey into the world" is reflected in its layout. Children are free to choose their activities; from a safe courtyard with an apple tree, circular bench, water feature, and herb beds, they venture through meadows and fields into an increasingly wild forest landscape.

Working with the Foundation on the garden transformation has fundamentally – and quite literally – changed the space between the school pavilions, allowing for the creation of a little paradise courtyard with an apple tree, herb beds, and a well. We've gained a beautiful place for children, parents, and everyone involved in whole‑school events to come together. A forest and a cherry orchard were planted, a field was established, and every day we witness how the forest grows, how the young cherry trees grow stronger, and we harvest the crops with the children. We’re reaping what we’ve sown :)

More about the transformation

The Faculty Kindergarten with Special Care succeeded in the grant call 2013.
