About the Transformation
What we achieved
Relaxation, play, well‑designed facilities for outdoor learning, and the opportunity for special education through play and interaction with the environment – these are just some of the benefits the garden now offers after its transformation. We enriched the space with wooden elements co‑designed by visual artist, performer, and sculptor Lenka Klodová, who also created a distinctive feature for the garden: the “Logohut”. Children love spending time in the relaxation zone with balance nets, as well as on the playground and in the sandbox. They also enjoy taking care of the plants in the flower and vegetable beds.

More about the transformation
The restoration of the Don Bosco Garden became the pilot project of the Garden Transformation Programme, launched by the foundation in 2010. For its first transformation, the foundation chose the garden of a Christian speech therapy school, which had specific requirements for both play and learning. The garden is also used by children from the affiliated boarding school and hosts various cultural events. In addition to the teaching staff, volunteers and students of landscape architecture from Mendel University in Brno took part in the restoration.
