Revitalization of the Loučná Riverbank in Litomyšl

We take special pride in the riverbank along the Loučná. It was created in a town that has taken architecture and urban planning seriously for a long time. The final work pleases the eye and warms the heart of every visitor.

About the Transformation

What we have accomplished

We transformed the nearby park into a sunlit recreational lawn. We helped restore the restaurant garden, complemented by a new steel pavilion with a green roof. A city promenade emerged along the riverbank, where people enjoy resting in the shade of trees and playing games. Artists contributed to the design of the playground, where musical motifs were used. Yet the space has maintained its natural wildness.

More about the transformation

The park is located near the Smetana House, influencing the design of the iconic playground. Artists Dušan Zahoranský and Pavla Sceranková created playground elements named Ear, Crystal, Mountain, Loch Ness Monster, and Zig Zag, reflecting sound and music motifs. We preserved the natural riverbanks, making only selected places accessible with simple bird and fish observatories. Local residents were actively involved in the transformation process.
