What we plan
The design respects the character of the park site and develops all of its functions, from relaxation to representative use. Pedestrian routes will naturally connect the buildings and will also link to the neighbouring sports complex. The western part of the site will be complemented by a recreational area with outdoor seating, which can occasionally function as an outdoor classroom.
A key part of the restoration is the return of greenery. Hundreds of new shrubs and plants will be planted in the garden, further the addition of ten new trees will create a pleasant green setting. As with other projects, the planting scheme was selected with local conditions in mind and took the proximity of the forest into account.
The improvements will increase the overall aesthetic value of the space, its safety, species diversity, and long‑term sustainability. A distinctive feature will be an outdoor board with a drawing surface, expanding how the garden can be used by students and the public.
The restoration of the ISŠ Hodonín garden is the result of a close‑knit community that began supporting the project financially through a public fundraising campaign, launched at the pre‑premiere screening of the documentary Tornádo – rok poté. The new garden will also serve the public. Visitors will be able to enjoy a varied space, new outdoor furniture, and improved pedestrian routes.

ISŠ Hodonín Workshops
The restoration of the outdoor area at ISŠ Hodonín follows the reconstruction of the school workshops, which were destroyed by the tornado in 2021. The original facilities for training carpenters and joiners had to be removed, and the school operated in temporary conditions for several years. The new building was completed and officially opened in September 2025. The investment of EUR 3,638,017 (CZK 88 million) has delivered modern spaces and top level equipment for practical training. The quality of the project was also confirmed by the Stavba Jihomoravského kraje 2025 award.
