Alejka Park in Broumov

We left our mark on the history of Broumov. Together with the city administration and other people, we brought life back to Alejka Park. Since then, like the citizens of Broumov, we have been justifiably proud of this green gem.

About the Transformation

What we have accomplished

We helped restore the chestnut alley, make the previously unused part of the park accessible, repair paths, plant greenery, and build a playground. Together with the city and its residents, we revived the tradition of promenade walks, therefore the oldest and largest park in Broumov, which belongs to the city's conservation area, now serves people much better. Since its reopening, it has come to life with various events, including a concert and a children's adventure event.

More about the transformation

In 2006, 56 cities applied for our grant. Two made it to the final round: Broumov and Turnov. Both cities conducted dendrological surveys, geodetic measurements, and architectural studies, partially funded by our foundation. The comprehensive approach made it possible to assess the pros and cons of both projects, leading to the selection of Broumov's Alejka. The city of Turnov, however, gained important groundwork for its potential further development thanks to its participation in the final.
